On November 10, 2010, an Austrian economic mission titled "Looking for Suppliers in Western Ukraine" took place in the building of Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry (14 Stryyskyi Park), the Commercial Department of the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine being its organizer.
In the course of this event, to develop new contacts and expand external economic activities, Ukrainian companies' representatives negotiated with Austrian entrepreneurs interested in placing orders for the production of manufactures in metalwork, woodwork and timber industry, plastic production, sports equipment etc.
Official participants of the event opening: Dmytro Aftanas, President of Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lev Zakharchyshyn, Head of International Cooperation Division of Lviv Regional State Administration, Gregor Postl, Trade Advisor for the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine, Yaroslav Nakonechnyi, Honorary Consul of Austria, Karl Schlagenhaufen, Head of International Clients and Project Financing Department of VOLKSBANK PJSC.
In the course of the mission, VOKLSBANK showed both a successful example of the Austrian investments in Ukraine and a proof of the fact that here one can invest long-term.
The Ukrainian part was represented by more than 50 Western Ukraine-based companies, in particular from the regions of Lviv, Volyn, and Rivne. On the Austrian part, representatives of the following companies were among the participants of the meeting: BlizzardSportGesmbH (skiing and sports equipment manufacture), E. Doppler & Co. GmbH (manufacturer of umbrellas, tents, and garden furniture), FranzKranzingerGmbH (manufacturer of garden soils), NeuhoferHolzGmbH (wood processing) and J. U. A.FrischeisGmbH (manufacturer of saw timber, veneer, plates, construction elements, terraced wood boards etc.).
Similar events are held by the Commercial Department of the Austrian Embassy on a regular basis and promote the expansion of economic relations between the two countries.
